
Manisha Sharma is a poet and a fiction writer. At present, she is a lecturer in English at New River Community College in Virginia. Born and raised in India, she received an MFA in creative writing from Virginia Tech, where she was also an Alfred E. Nobler fellow. Her work explores feminist social issues by collaboration with music composers, designers, and computer engineers. Her writing and installations have been published, recognized, awarded and they have run at institutes and galleries in the United States, India, and Australia. She has been a participant at the prestigious Breadloaf writers' conference in Vermont. She was also selected as a Spring 2016 poetry mentee by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs.
Manisha has worked as a writing coach at NuVu studio in Cambridge, MA, taught women's and gender studies, creative writing, English Composition, and was also a faculty fellow with the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology at VirginiaTech.
Her work has been awarded, nominated, and is published or forthcoming in Puerto Del Sol, TAB: A Journal of Poetry & Poetics, Saturday Evening Series, The Aerogram, The Bombay Review, The Common and elsewhere.
In Nov. 2017, she was a writer in residence at the Vermont Studio Center, where she also led a yoga and meditation workshop.
